design journey
I’ve always seen myself as someone who values humanitarian principles, yet I’ve also had a passion for problem-solving. Back in high school, I had a misconception that design required artistic abilities, which I didn’t possess at that time. However, when I got the chance to explore design at the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, I discovered it was a perfect fit for me. I learned that design isn’t just about art; it’s about problem-solving and creativity. After joining a design agency during my first year at university, I’ve been fully immersed in learning about user interface and experience design. It’s been years now, and I’m still deeply engaged in this field, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
educating
Teaching unexpectedly became a significant part of my life, bringing a delightful surprise. Eager for new challenges, I enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to lead a week-long class for ten individuals spread across three evenings. Since then, I’ve had opportunities to teach in various formats and settings. From one-on-one sessions to guiding theory and Figma practices for groups of up to 180+ people, I’ve enjoyed every format and class size because teaching is incredibly rewarding for me.
Reflecting on my student days, I valued educators who emphasized real-world relevance. Inspired by their approach, I aimed to make learning enjoyable and demonstrate how the material could benefit my students’ personal and professional growth.
mentoring
I’ve had the opportunity to mentor four individuals so far, and I absolutely love it. As a junior, I navigated the complexities of the field on my own, wishing for someone to simplify the journey with insights I didn’t have back then. That experience fuels my desire to assist and guide those exploring this career path. I’m passionate about my profession, and that’s why I want to make it easier for newer designers to navigate.
hobbies
Since my job can be quite demanding at times, I find it essential to have hobbies to unwind and recharge. During my free time, I often indulge in coffee dates with my dog Maki and friends, which always brings joy. I also find relaxation in playing beach volleyball, practicing yoga, and mixing some good house music. I’ve started my channel recently, and below is a sample of my mixing session.
